The ECW lab provides well water testing for those who rely on groundwater as their potable water source. The Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality are published by Health Canada, and it is stated that the acceptable concentration of total coliforms and E. coli in a drinking water system is “non-detectable” (or 0 colony forming units in a 100mL sample). Health Canada recommends that water be tested:
· Twice per year (early spring + fall)
· Following a heavy rain event or extended dry spell
· If there is nearby construction, plumbing changes, or extended period of non-use
· When buying or selling a home

Collection: Eastern Charlotte Waterways offers a convenient collection service for those interested in hassle free peace of mind. Customers can sign up for regularly scheduled sample collection. If you prefer to collect the sample yourself, please visit our office to pick up an approved sample bottle.
Turnaround: Result turnaround is 24 hours; if a sample is dropped off to us before 2:00pm, results will be available before the end of the next business day.
